CDL Systems selected to support MBDA Fire Shadow Loitering Munitions Programme

Akin to a small cruise missile, a Loitering Munition (LM) may be defined as an artillery-launched precision munition that can be positioned in a de-conflicted volume of airspace for a significant period of time to rapidly attack an appropriate land target. Optimized for a single mission against static or moving targets with an abort capability, a typical LM features tubular design with pop-out 'scissor' wings. CALGARY – 20 October 2008 – Fire Shadow is a solution for the UK ground forces' requirement for an all-weather, 24 hour capability to carry out precision attacks across the full spectrum of conflict and in complex scenarios. This will include attacks against individual and groups of hard and soft, static, manoeuvring and mobile surface targets.
