Company Receives Certificate of Appreciation for Work on Hunter UAS

SIERRA VISTA – 29 January 2008 – CDL Systems Ltd. (CDL), an industry leader in unmanned vehicle control software development, has been presented a “Certificate of Appreciation” by Northrop Grumman Corporation for its contribution in developing the Automatic Takeoff and Landing System (ATLS) for the MQ-5B Hunter UAS. CDL supplies the ground control station software, VCS™, that is used to operate the MQ-5B Hunter UAS.

J. E. Perry, director of Northrop Grumman’s UAS & Flight Logistics Center, presented the award to Dave Weiler, co-owner of CDL, at a ceremony in Sierra Vista today. The award recognizes CDL as a “critical supplier” in the development of the ATLS, and for consistently providing software that “exceeded expected reliability during regression testing.” The certificate also identifies CDL’s efforts as “invaluable for ensured flight success” and recognizes CDL’s “professionalism” as an organization.

CDL has been partnered with Northrop Grumman since 2002 when CDL began developing VCS™ for the U.S. Army One System® Ground Control Station (OSGCS) for the MQ-5A Hunter. Subsequent work involved upgrading VCS™ to support the MQ-5B Hunter. CDL continued its cooperation with Northrop Grumman by upgrading the OSGCS for MQ-5B Hunter software with ATLS. CDL and Northrop Grumman continue to work together on the MQ-5B Hunter program—a UAS playing a key role in reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition for the U.S. Army.
