Who We Are.

Established in 1992 by Dave Weiler and Albert Sulmistras, CDL Systems is a software engineering firm dedicated to developing ground control station software for unmanned systems.

We are the first in the world to have developed a commercial off-the-shelf software package for use in operating unmanned air, land and sea vehicles. With a team of 50 members and a dedicated focus on ground control station software, we leverage years of experience and leadership and maintain an excellent reputation in the industry.

What We Do.

Helping UAV operators make better decisions and effectively achieve mission objectives is the foundation of our software.

We develop the Vehicle Control Station (VCS) software suite—a fully integrated command, control, and information system designed for operating unmanned vehicles in a variety of roles. VCS provides UAV operators with real-time control and monitoring capabilities through its simple and intuitive point-and-click interface.

By automatically managing piloting tasks and introducing increased levels of autonomy, VCS allows operators to focus on the most important task—the mission. Our years of research and development have enabled us to design a product tailored for operators with or without piloting experience.

Who We Have Worked With.

We have worked alongside AAI, Aurora Flight Sciences, BAE Systems, Boeing, EADS, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, General Dynamics Canada, L-3, Meggitt Training Systems Canada, Northrop Grumman, Ultra Electronics and the U.S. Army.

We have worked alongside a diverse group of international clients tailoring, developing and integrating VCS for their specific requirements. We have years of experience working within the Integrated Product Team (IPT) framework. As a Canadian company, we have established Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA) with a number of our clients allowing for the seamless flow of information and services. No one has integrated ground control station software to as many third-party vehicles as we have.
