RQ-7B Shadow Project Overview

In 1999, the U.S. Army selected AAI Corporation's Shadow 200 to fill the tactical UAS requirement. Designated RQ-7B Shadow, it is widely considered one of the most successful unmanned vehicle platforms in world. It is an invaluable intelligence, reconnaissance, and surveillance asset for the U.S. Army in Iraq.

CDL Systems has engineered and developed VCS for Shadow—the software platform controlling the RQ-7B. Integrated into AAI Corporation's One System Ground Control Station, VCS for Shadow has seen over 400,000 operational flight hours solely with the U.S. Army. Additionally, we provide the software for the Remote Video Terminal (RVT), a portable device used for viewing real-time video and data from the air vehicle.
